Prepare for Worship (23 Dec 2018)
How has God shown His goodness and steadfast love to you? Let’s spend a few moments to give thanks to Him.
Call to Worship: 1 Peter 2:4-6
“As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen
and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house,
to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
For it stands in Scripture:
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
Pastor Eugene will be sharing God's word with us this Sunday. He will be preaching from Psalm 118 and his sermon is titled "The King of Turnarounds". He will draw us to focus on Jesus, the rejected one, who has become our exalted King. May we respond with a life in Christ that leads to thanksgiving and praise when we put our trust in King Jesus, our hope in times of trouble and the cornerstone for our lives.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
We want to thank God for the youth camp and let's pray for fruit and growth from the camp. Let's also pray for us as we spend the closing moments of 2018 reflecting on God's goodness and looking forward in hope to what He will do in 2019 at the Watchnight Service. Pray for a good time of praise & prayer, hearing God's word and being encouraged by testimonies of His grace at work among us. Also, let's prayerfully consider how we can help build up the church by serving one another in the various opportunities found in the ministry guide.
