Prepare for Worship (23 Sep 2018)
How willing am I this morning, to entrust all that I am and have into God’s care? Let's trust in our God of all truth as we gather with His people this Sunday.
Call to Worship: Jeremiah 17:7-10
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.”
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
We thank God for Pastor Ian's ministry with Queenstown Baptist Church last Sunday and we look forward to his preaching this Sunday. Pastor Ian will be preaching from 1 John 2:18-27 and his sermon is titled "The Threat to Fellowship". The greatest threat to the fellowship of Christ, comes not from without, but from within. May God's truths shape and fashion us as we flesh out what it means to be in the fellowship of Christ.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
This week, let us pray for our team of pastors, elders and elder associates as they share with the ministriy and CG leaders about the plans for 2019 at our special prayer meeting on 28 Sep. Pray that all the leaders will be of one mind and spirit as we commit our plans to God. Let us also not forget to uphold the various ministry opportunities in our church. For more information, please refer to this week's ministry guide. May we always seek God's pleasure in what we do.
