Prepare for Worship (2 Sep 2018)
What kind of help from God are you in need of right now? Ponder over this and humbly beseech our Advocate, Jesus Christ, sent to help us face sin's penalty.
WORSHIP PREPARATION
Call to Worship: Isaiah 41:8-10
But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend;
you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners,
saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”;
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
This week, we kick-off the 1st sermon on the 2nd chapter of 1 John for the month of September and are delighted to have one of our Elder Associates, Caleb Yap to bring God's word to us. He will be preaching from 1 John 2:1-6 and his sermon is titled "When God Sends an Advocate". The big idea of his sermon is that because we have Jesus as our advocate, we have help to face sin’s penalty and power. Let's be praying that God will use him to convict hearts to respond in Christlike living.
