Prepare for Worship (17 Mar 2019)

Do I need to embrace again God’s willingness to declare me righteous?

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship: Psalm 32:1-5

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,

whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,

and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away

  through my groaning all day long.

For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;

my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.

I acknowledged my sin to you,

 and I did not cover my iniquity;

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This week, Pastor Ian will be bringing the message to us and his sermon is titled "The Righteousness of Faith" and he will be preaching from Romans 4:1-25. The big idea of his sermon is that we are counted righteous through faith in Christ alone. Let's pray for Pastor Ian as he prepares his sermon and for us to respond in worship of this gracious God who justifies the ungodly.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

As we commission our 4 of our elders this Sunday, let's be praying for our team of elders & associates that God will guard their hearts in Christ as they humbly serve and grow the church to be more like Christ. Let's also pray for the church camp committee that God will unite the team and give wisdom to them as they see to all the logistics and planning of the camp. For more of how we do life together as a community, here is this week's ministry guide for your prayer and participation.
