Prepare for Worship (16 Dec 2018)

In this seaon of Advent, as we prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas, let's take time to consider this question: Is my heart and home ready to receive the King?

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship: Psalm 95:1-6

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;

let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

For the Lord is a great God,

and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the depths of the earth;

the heights of the mountains are his also.

The sea is his, for he made it,

and his hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Taking the pulpit this Sunday is Pastor Ian and he be preaching from Psalm 24. His sermon is titled "Open Those Gates!". His sermon will seek to remind us that just as the gates of Jerusalem were opened to receive the Ark of the Covenant, so our hearts are to be open to receive the holy (vv. 3-7) King (vv. 7-10) of creation (vv. 1-2)

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

This Sunday, we want to be praying for our Associate Pastor, Sam who will be sharing God's word at Acts Baptist Church. Let's pray that God will use him to encourage the people to persevere in their faith and walk in the Lord. As for us, let's be praying for the various needs and ministries of the church that as we do life together, may we give Him the highest honour and glory. Here is this week's ministry guide for our prayerful consideration and participation.
