Prepare for Worship (31 December 2017)

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship : Romans 5:1-5

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand,

and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,

and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts

through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

Are there struggles in your life now that demonstrate a need for God’s persevering power? Take a moment to specifically invite Him to strengthen and help you persevere in faithfulness to the gospel.

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs to help us prepare for worship this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This week, Pastor Ian will finish the "Not Ashamed" series with the last sermon for 2017. His sermon this Sunday is titled "Finishing Well" and he will be preaching from Acts 28:11-31. The big idea of her semon is that we will finish well when we determine to offer every day as a platform for the gospel. Let's pray that the Holy Spirit will guide his thoughts and anoint his lips as he brings God's word to us and that we will recognize that the faithful God will equip us to persevere fpr the gospel.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

We welcome those who have just joined us by baptism and transfer and let's pray that they will grow to love and serve with the GBC family and together, live out Hebrews 10:24-25 in our lives. Here is this week's ministry guide to help us pray for the ministries and get involved.

See you on Sunday and for Watchnight Service at 8.00pm (dinner starts at 6.30pm)!
