Prepare for Worship (3 June 2018)

How have our hearts wandered from God? How is God calling us to return to Him?

Call to Worship: Psalm 63:1-3

"O God, you are our God; earnestly we seek you;

our soul thirsts for you;

our flesh faints for you,

as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

So we have looked upon you in the sanctuary,

beholding your power and glory.

Because your steadfast love is better than life,

our  lips will praise you."

Here are the songs for this week.

This Sunday, we are starting a new series on the book of Hosea. Kicking off the series, is Pastor Eugene who will be preaching from Hosea 1:1-11 and his sermon is titled “The Faithfulness of the Forsaken God". The big idea of his sermon is about the Lord remaining faithful to discipline God's people who have been faithless to Him and bringing them back to Himself. Let's prepare our hearts to hear of our God's faithful, persevering love for an unlovely people and pray that we will repent of our own faithlessness and renew our faithfulness to God.

Here's this week's ministry guide which gives us a peek into how we do life together as a community in GBC. We give thanks to God for the VBS that concluded on Saturday where we saw the community in action, coming together to render help and resources to reach the young ones for God. Let us pray for fruit from this outreach. Also, let us also prayerfully consider how we can better steward the time and talents that God has blessed us with to serve and grow this church community. Let us grow to be a church that seeks godliness and be looking out for the needs of others.
