Baptisms & Transfer - 8 Dec 13

“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4)

It is always a joy to witness the baptism of believers. Not only do we rejoice because of their obedience, often times the testimonies shared also revive our own Christian walk as they remind us of our very own first love.

Hence, we praise the Lord for Ryan and Hua Bin as they take this step of obedience for the Lord on 8 Dec 13. We thank them for their honest and encouraging testimonies, reminding us of the love and grace of our Lord Jesus.

“I was lost and felt that life was meaningless and without purpose or truth to it…One day, I came across a Christian article from the web that quoted Jesus’s words: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). I became convicted by that statement…and I began to realize that all the things pertaining to life was found in the Word of God and in it is full of wisdom and goodness and I can have eternal life by putting my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.” - Ryan

“I wondered about who this Jesus is and what is eternal life. Things started to make sense to me, and the Spirit led me to read Revelation...Revelation 20:15 reads, "And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire"...the Spirit worked powerfully and caused me to repent, and to confess Jesus as Lord and believe in Him, and I am saved." - Hua Bin

We also welcome Joey’s transfer of membership to GBC. We pray that as a church family, we will encourage and be encouraged by him as he continues to let our Lord rule his heart and life.

“In the many years since, I’ve had several struggles, heartaches, disappointments and even setbacks in my walk with Christ. And still He is there, He has not abandoned me…The transformation that comes with walking with Christ is amazing! You start to love those that you couldn’t before. You care less of this world and yearn to be in His presences continually. You care less for yourself and more for others. A hunger develops: for His Word, for prayer and for righteousness. A joy develops: I want to share it and shout it. A peace develops: and it takes me through those rocky roads.” - Joey
